You can pick any 3 questions for your check in tonight.

6:30-7:00 pm:  "Did you know?..."
Did you know? Each session, the facilitator will share an interesting or unexpected fact, story, or piece of multimedia to spark curiosity and connection. This brief segment is designed to inspire reflection and bring a creative twist to our group experience.

Today's "Did you Know?..."

What if you could walk through a gallery that transforms addiction—from social media and shopping to opioids and substance use—into powerful art that makes you stop and think? Science Gallery Atlanta’s debut show HOOKED blends science, art, and design to explore how “want” can turn into “need,” featuring 22 immersive pieces that challenge viewers to confront addiction in a new way.

7:00-8:00 pm

Just a quick overview of the type of evidence-based modalities used in this EIOP. Some of you had messaged me privately and asked to do a refresher during the group. if you have any further questions, beyond this, I am more than happy to discuss, I would also recommend you ask your Primary Therapist if you had more questions.

These three evidence-based approaches are widely used in this type of platform as well in-patient, PHP, IOP, and OP.
FeatureCognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Key Takeaways for Group Members:
  • CBT gives you structured tools to manage thoughts.
  • DBT provides specific skills to handle emotional crises and improve relationships.
  • MI helps you build the internal "why" for making a change in the first place.

8:00-9:00 pm
In the final hour we will complete a CBT Activity/Topic of your choice. Click the Topic below. Complete the questions on the form provided. Make sure you save or screenshot. We will use your answers for discussion topics for next session.

Choice #1 (Predicts the cost and/or benefit of change)

Choice #2 (This is my personal favorite, a little in depth, but worth it)

Choice #3 (This is out of the box and a lot of fun...uses Google translate to convert the intrusive thought into an unfamiliar language...then asks you questions)

Choice #4 (How much time and energy do we actually spend worrying)

HAVE A GREAT NIGHT. Remember, no phones an hour before bed! I promise a better night's sleep.
